2 - A point of view shot, that appears after the characters introduction on screen, playing the piano. There is this short image of the subject looking at his phone in a rush and he then stands up and it changes to a wide shot of the actor proceeding with his action which is to leave the house, followed by...
3- A wide shot of the actor packing up his stuff and getting ready to go to school, this is part of the Costume and Props that establishes the genre of the film which is a Teenage/ Comedy / Drama. In this shot the subject is represented to be a typical teenager who is rushing to get to out of the door and who is late for school because he left everything for the last minute and lost track of the time because he was enjoying playing the Piano.
4 - This is a Close up shot, match on action, I done this to make it look real, like it was actually happening and to help the audience understand the genre of the film and also to give an introduction of the character, in this case he plays the piano before packing his stuff for school. This was made to help the audience associate with the subject because he is passionate about playing the piano as his action demonstrate, it made him lose track of the time and rush to get to a place.
5 - Another wide shot of the main character walking out of his home into the world, this shot shows the location and indicates that he is clearly going somewhere and we are about to accompany his journey there, like most teenagers he is representing one who once has walked out of the door has stop being in a rush and is comfortable with how things are flowing...
6 - This is a tracking shot of the subject walking out of his front drive onto the road, this shot is made to be like this because I want the audience to accompany his journey to where ever he is going, by following him all focus is on him and his action of doing up the buttons show us that he is cold, which is a common convention on films because it brings the audience closer to the subject because being cold is a feeling we all know as human beings, making it easier for the audience to take a liking towards the character without knowing it. The grey sky in the background reflects this action showing us that it is cold in this location.
7 - A very wide shot of the character walking up to the school entrance where he spots a group of teens and then hides behind a wall, everybody witnesses this but nobody pays attention to this action and this is done to make teenagers represent attention seeking, funny and random people. Making the audience want to watch more and find out why he done what he done because suspense was added to the what you watched when least expected.
8 - A very wide shot of the dark sky with the clouds edited to be moving fast, showing the audience that time is moving and the next shot is occurring later on that day and how the story is set out this is something real films use to invent a sort of time travel on real films.
9 - Followed by the clouds, we are showed a close up shot of the gutter and then a very wide shot of a high security place at night, this is made this way to add suspense and to leave the audience on a cliffhanger and wanting to watch more, but all I can say is that maybe a new character was going to be introduced or the main character is located in this highly security facility.
The title of the film
My film is set out to be a film filled with fun, a successful tittle was given because I like to compare the movie title to flying kites as they both play in the wind and this is something most people enjoy doing and my film is about imagining you being in the situations the charecter goes throught and feeling accompanied a friend through a tough journey as playing in the wind can get a little tricky sometimes.
My film setting I can only compare to Harry Potter because its a hidden place away from every where and we mostly focus on the charecters and what surrounds them defines who they play as a charecter but however my film was mostly filmed in Leatherhead mostly outside Therfield school but my charecter is out in the countryside this discribes his taste for music. Being filmed in the countryside this allows all the attention to be given to the main points which are the buildings we see, the countryside, the house, the school, the pond and the mysterious highly security place.
Costumes and props
From the screengrab you can see that my most realistic prop is the school books and this was a crucial part of our film as high school film should be without books or fashion. Another screengrab shows the charecter doing his buttons up this shows his identity and how laid back he is.
Camerawork and editing
Shot 7 shows a very wide shot one of the shots one the scene just before the charecter hides behind the wall from the bullies this was done to keep the audience wanting to watch the film and to find out why he hid behind the wall.
Title font and style
My chosen style of letters is a simple easy to read yellow bubble writing this is because I wanted my film to look simple and by doing this it shows that it is not a crime drama or something of that sort because bubble writing is mostly used with teenagers. The style of my font sends out a message that my film can be just as clear, cut and out there as the film title is.
Story and how the opening sets it up
In the opening 2 minutes of my film there are many clues and hints to what is happening with Callum screengrab 2 shows that he likes being early and is always on a time schedule people who are later on waiting for him outside the school gate know this already that is why they are waiting for his arrival, but when he does he makes a fool out of himself taking cover behind a wall after he has been spotted, this makes the audience sympathise with him and makes the audience want to find out why there is a rivalry between these people.
Genre and how the opening suggests it
The opening suggests it by showing the title as playing in the wind, then the first thing the charecter comes on the screen doing is playing the piano, this shows us that the charecter likes to play, but the charecter packing his school stuff and the street art on the house walls indicate that this is a high-school drama.
How characters are introduced
The main charecter is introduced to be a distant far away person who is in a little world of his own but is a very skilled unique young talented student, this sets the mood for the first minutes of the film but we get to see how the charecter enjoys his own company.
Special effects
The only speacial effects used were on the ripples on the pond, I made them play backwards in reserve to give it a different effect like a stick jumping out of the water as if it has a life of its own causing a reaction on the water making ripples appear this is made to describe and relate to how the charecter is feeling and thinking like.
